About Jen

“I always wanted to make a difference; I wanted the human touch in my life. My heart spoke to me; this was   how I was meant to give back.” She is an avid swimmer, and in her day, was a collegiate rower, triathlete and distance swimmer.  Jen believes that the combination of breath and movement are keys to spine health and greater physical prowess and posture.  Her hands-on experiences (acute and outpatient care) and personal spine rehabilitation programs have allowed her to further her career in rehabilitation, maintenance and overall health. She is a healthcare professional with multiple graduate degrees and work experience as a medical writer, Physical Therapist /Ergonomist as well as a Pilates and Yoga Instructor.

Physical Therapy (PT) & Ergonomic Professional Experience

Jen has worked in all major settings, including acute, sub-acute, outpatient, assisted living and home health settings. She has treated a vast array of medical conditions and improved patient functional mobility, strength,  and balance in individuals of all ages (10-100).   She sees private physical therapy patients in the home or at the studio and will perform ergonomic assessments at your home and/or office, per request.

Pilates Professional Experience
Jen is a Certified Pilates Instructor in the Classical method (Power Pilates) using all apparatus with hands-on client experience in teaching privates, duets, trios and classes and parties for beginner through advanced levels of up to 30 participants.  A weekly schedule of mat, reformer, apparatus and body rolling classes as well as private client sessions allow her to maintain her strengths.

She routinely participates in continuing education via Polestar (rehab) BASI and Balanced Body and currently teaches private sessions based on individual client needs incorporating use of all apparatus, including mat, reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, etc.

Currently, Jen works at  Menlo Pilates and Yoga, Oshman-Feldman Jewish Community Center (OFJCC), Club Pilates and Bay Club and other facilities upon request.  She is available to come to your home, office, etc. if desired.

Yoga Professional Experience

Jen has had a routine yoga practice for years, dabbling in Hatha, Yin, Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Iyengar. Jen completed her 200-RYT training at Avalon Yoga and Healing in Palo Alto, CA .  She teaches regularly at OFJCC and other facilities in the area. She is available  for small group and/or individual instruction and develops workshops as well as teaches yoga locally.
